Movement Introduction 101 will serve as a quick hit to introduce all of the different exercises that you may utilize within your training.
Today we have the deadlift!
A foundational exercise for strength development. It targets total body strength, along with core strength & stability. It’s a posterior chain dominant exercise, so that means we are primarily training the back side of our body, and in this case it’s the Glutes, Hamstrings, & Musculature of the back & Shoulders. We do also use some anterior chain musculature to help stabilize through out the movement and that’s where Core Stability & Strength come in.
Overall, the Deadlift is a phenomenal movement and it provides a ton of benefit. However, it’s also a fairly technical movement that requires ample coaching before you start incorporating this into your program. If the proper coaching and cueing is not followed while deadlifting, you can and will SERIOUSLY INJURE your back. Always consult a professional before you take on any type of physical training, and please feel free to reach out with any questions!
